The drive to Glennallen was problem free! Here are a few photos to give you a quick update.
We left the Kennel at about 7:30 this morning, so it was dark and stayed that way for the first couple of hours. By 11am we were in the mountains, driving south into the barely rising sun. The wind picked up quite a bit in the pass, so that is snow/ice you see blowing across the road. We made it to race headquarters at about 1pm and left the "drop bags" to be forwarded out to the checkpoints, then our three mushers signed in and autographed posters... a first for Bridgett!
The mushers and handlers are off to the pre-race meeting where starting numbers will be drawn. I'll post an update for you as soon as they let me know who got what number. Meanwhile, I've got some video that I'll look at now and see if it's worth posting. Stay tuned!Labels: Macgellan
